Spring Atelier is more than an event—it’s a concept rooted in connection, education, and growth within the hair industry. Inspired by the idea of a “springboard,” it was created as a space for artists to gather, share knowledge, and expand their careers beyond the traditional path behind the chair.
At its core, Spring is about people. It brings together those who have learned through experience and those eager to grow, creating an environment free from sales agendas or brand-driven influence. The goal is simple: to build a stronger, more vibrant hair community throughout the Hudson Valley.
A Community-First Approach
Community is the foundation of Spring Atelier. Education here is designed to feel collaborative, inspiring, and supportive—not intimidating or exclusive. Rather than relying on gatekeeping or influencer culture, Spring highlights passionate, consistent artists who are generous with their knowledge and aligned with values of mentorship, authenticity, and growth.
Attendees are encouraged to connect not just with educators, but with each other—leaving with new techniques, fresh inspiration, and a renewed sense of belonging within their local industry.
The Maiden Event Experience
The inaugural Spring Social, hosted at The Maiden, was thoughtfully curated to blend elevated education with meaningful connection.
The lineup included:
- Kyra Hornung of Hairdriven, sharing a fresh perspective on modern barbering and creative cutting
- The Le Shag Bridal Team presenting Spring/Summer 2026 bridal hair and makeup trends Mikaela Hopkins & Carly Lenhardt
- Kristen Ciliberti along with Jennifer Donovan offering insight into sustainable, creative, & modern, salon business practices
- Amy Farid, a New York City editorial and runway stylist, demonstrating a long, textured layered cut with bangs
The setting reflected the intention of the event—an elevated yet welcoming space where stylists could feel inspired, supported, and connected to both their craft and their peers.
Education That Evolves
While large-scale certifications and influencer-led education will always exist, Spring Atelier embraces a different approach. Smaller, community-driven gatherings and collaborations are becoming increasingly valuable, offering real-world connection beyond social media platforms.
The focus is on learning together, sharing experiences, and creating opportunities that grow organically from within the community itself.
Looking Ahead
Spring Atelier aims to continue hosting seasonal events that bring together the Hudson Valley hair community. With future gatherings already in the works, including a Summer Social, the vision is to keep building spaces where artists can connect, collaborate, and grow together.
Because at the end of the day, the most meaningful part of this industry isn’t just the work—it’s the people behind it.
