There’s a certain kind of energy that comes through in Dave “Face” Boccio’s photography. It feels alive, unpolished in the best way.If you have ever been up front at a live show, so close you could feel the heat and almost taste the band’s sweat, that’s how Dave’s photos feel.

At his core, Dave is a collaborator. “I love creating, so let’s create something beautiful together,” he says and it shows in all his work. It’s never just about the object in the photo, but the energy he’s able to capture.

Dave’s love for photography began years ago in Florida, where he started out photographing alligators in the wild. After returning to New York, his focus shifted to documenting the creative pulse of the region. Now based in the Hudson Valley, he’s spent the past twelve years photographing landscapes, musicians, graffiti artists, festivals, sporting events, and products for local businesses.

Dave not only photographs the scene but he takes every opportunity to show that love back to the music community. Always promoting local bands in any way he can help and works closely with local zines such as Outsider Magazine and other local collectives as well.

His images find balance between movement and stillness, grit and beauty. Whether he’s shooting street art on a weathered wall or a live band mid-performance, there’s always a sense of immediacy, like you’ve stepped right into the moment he saw through his lens.

Dave “Face” Boccio’s work captures the raw character of our region and the creative voices that shape it. Stop by the salon to experience his images in person and feel the rhythm of the Hudson Valley through his lens. His show opens November 28 and will be on display for the next three months.
